Our Home in Windermere

We've been open for business here in Windermere Village for nearly nine years now. The sun shines, the rain a timely reminder that we're here in Lakeland - The Lake District. Maybe we're biased but it's the most beautiful part of England, whatever the weather. 

Perhaps the reason why we do actually have a shop and not just sitting here on a platform far far away in the galaxy called the internet is that we like having it and when people do comment on how nice they find our shop then it goes a long way toward justifying our presence on the high street.

We opened without any previous experience. None, nothing. All we had optimism, naivety and most importantly, a strong work ethic. Now look at us, still armed with those three prerequisites and enjoying every minute of it. Independently owned but most importantly, with independent thinking.

The only secret, if it is a secret, more a mantra, is 'find something different for people to buy and remember that pockets are not bottomless' - so hopefully you'll find items of personality here and that's handy if you're either looking to enhance your home or looking to find that gift for someone that will hit the mark.

And of course we have on our walls, poster art that comes from our hand - originality that is at the core of who we are. 

Windermere Village is just dandy and art plays a big part here with several shops offering prints and originals as well as plenty of places to dwell, to sip coffee or wine or dine. We count ourselves lucky to be here and the reason why we're blogging here is simply to say, 'If you haven't paid us a visit yet, then please do'. The view is very pleasant.
