Bespoke Ulverston mugs from Upland Clay

Earlier this year on a trip to Borrowdale we spotted the most beautiful mugs for sale in the youth hostel.

We found out that they were made by a local potter - Alicja from Upland Clay. She hand makes combining speckled clay with a smooth glaze to great effect. We got in touch to see if Alicja might make some bespoke mugs featuring The Monument in Ulverston for us here at The Northern Line.

Alicja came up trumps with a brilliant design, and we’re happy to say that they arrived with us this week.

The downside is that we only have 20, with no more until after Christmas – so if you want one, then get in quick!
